BIL Students from Zhanaozen and Almaty Clinch Top Honors in Robotics Competitions

On January 14th, students from Kazakhstan’s Bilim-Innovation Lyceum showcased their skills at the “Türkiye FIRST Tech Challenge” robotics championship in Turkey. The event featured over 30 Turkish teams, alongside the “Rebels” and “Queue” teams from Zhanaozen and Almaty, respectively. These teams comprised of students from 9th, 10th, and 11th grades at the Bilim-Innovation Lyceum.

At the championship, the Kazakhstani teams not only emerged victorious but also garnered prestigious awards from the judges. The 10th and 11th-grade students of the “Queue” team were honoured with the Connect Award, recognizing their significant contributions to STEM development in their local community.

Meanwhile, the “Rebels” team from Zhanaozen, consisting of students from grades 9 to 11, was awarded the “Design Award” for their robot’s innovative design and functionality.

Jhonder Suleimenov, the coach of the “Rebels” team, expressed his enthusiasm: “Receiving an exclusive invitation from Turkey and achieving victory abroad is a remarkable achievement for our Kazakhstani team. We are now gearing up for the next phase of the competition in Astana, representing the Central Asian region.
