BIL students secured three medals while representing the Kazakhstan team at the 58th International Mendeleev Olympiad in Chemistry

From April 21 to 26, the 58th International Mendeleev Olympiad in Chemistry for schoolchildren took place at MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen, China. The event drew 200 participants from 30 countries, serving as a premier international platform spearheaded by Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Melnichenko Foundation to nurture young talent. Competitors included representatives from Russia, Austria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Hungary, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, North Macedonia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Cuba, and others. The Olympiad concluded with the distribution of 15 gold, 30 silver, and 45 bronze medals.

Kazakhstan’s team secured nine medals: one gold, two silver, and six bronze. Notably, three students from the Bilim-Innovation lyceums were among the medalists. Adilzhan Moldagul from BIL Aktau clinched a silver medal, while Sanzhar Kaliakbar from BIL Karaganda and Alibi Mugalim from BIL Aktau each earned a bronze.
