From June 9 to 14 of this year, Kazakhstan’s national team participated in the inaugural Avicenna International Biology Olympiad, held in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. This two-round competition drew participation from over 100 students representing 18 countries.
Representing Kazakhstan were eight students from the biology Olympic reserve, including those from schools under the aegis of the Bilim-Innovation Foundation. The team achieved outstanding results, securing eight medals in total, with six awarded to students from Foundation schools:
Silver Medals:
- Amina Tynarbai, an 11th-grade student from Kyzylorda BIL for girls.
- Galymzhan Baktybay, an 11th-grade student from Astana BIL for boys.
- Dana Amangeldi, a 10th-grade student from Nurorda School-Lyceum in Astana.
Bronze Medals:
- Nurtore Torehanuly, an 11th-grade student from Oskemen BIL for boys.
- Aruzhan Almashova, an 11th-grade student from Kyzylorda BIL for girls.
- Rauan Esen, an 11th-grade student from Taraz BIL for boys.
